The Picola District Football Netball League outfit has locked in Jason Whittaker and Renee Morris in the senior and A-grade coaching roles respectively.
Whittaker and his charges kicked off their finals campaign at the weekend in style, defeating Deniliquin Rovers in a hard-fought battle, while Morris will steer the A-grade contingent in the qualifying final against Waaia this weekend.
Whittaker, in his first season in the role, said it was an easy decision to recommit for 2024.
“Yeah it’s really exciting, I’m really pleased to be given the opportunity to go around again,” he said following the elimination final win at the weekend.
“I can’t wait, there wasn’t a second wasted when they offered it to me. It’s been a full-on 12 months, but I’ve really enjoyed the experience and I’m already in preparation for next year.”
The club announced Morris’ re-signing on Sunday evening.
Morris has helped orchestrate Katandra’s dominant A-grade season ― one that had it finish second on the ladder.
The club’s netball director Elise White was thrilled to lock Morris in for 2024.
“Renee has been a fantastic addition to the Katandra netball program and community,” she said.
“Her genuine passion for the game has been infectious and we have just loved having her at the club.”
Meanwhile, fellow Picola league outfit Katamatite re-signed senior coach James Hazelman recently.
Hazelman can start preparing for next season after his Tigers suffered a disappointing elimination final loss to Jerilderie on Sunday.
