The young Rhinos started training in September last year with 22 eager kids who were filled with plenty of confidence and enthusiasm, and wanted to take their cricket skills to the next level.
“Our season was delayed due to the floods and excessive heat which halted our chance to play our first game,” said coach Harry Hillier.
The young Rhinos took this in their stride though, and were developing and improving their cricket skills.
“Once the season was back on track the boys had benefited from the time they had spent together bonding and creating the team environment of being good mates, enjoying playing cricket and having fun,” he said.
“Throughout the season the team put together some fantastic moments of brilliance and gamesmanship which showed their determination to improve and develop their own cricket knowledge and skill.
“What a fantastic season our under-14s had.
“The Deniliquin Rhinos cricket club has a bright future with plenty of enthusiastic kids who just love playing cricket.”
The under-14 Rhinos finished their season last weekend with a loss against an in-form Cobram side.
Fifth on the MVCA ladder, they just missed out on finals action.

The C-grade side is the only Rhinos outfit to have made finals this year, and started their finals campaign last night.
The game did not begin until after the Pastoral Times went to print.
The Rhinos were meeting Nathalia in the semi-final at the Finley Recreational Reserve.
The winner of the game will play again tonight, with the grand final then set for next weekend.
