The Deni Rhinos A-grade side was scheduled to begin a two-day game against the Tocumwal Bloods at Memorial Park for round eight.
This will instead become a one-day, 45-over a side game.
Provided the weather conditions are ideal, it will be played this Saturday.
This is a rematch of the teams’ round five match.
The Rhinos won that round by seven wickets, and will be looking to repeat their efforts.
The A-grade season will then have two more one-day matches scheduled in the run-home before the holiday break.
The Rhinos are scheduled to play Berrigan Saints at home next week, December 14 before playing away against Barooga on December 21.
At this stage of the season, the Rhinos have five wins and would be fairly happy with their ladder position at third.
However, the team is still hunting the top two teams.
Deni sit three points - or half a game - behind ladder-leader Nathalia, who are tied on points with Cobram but are ahead on net run-rate of Cobram.
Nathalia and Cobram both have six wins for the season so far.
One game behind the Rhinos and in fourth on the ladder is Katamatite, with four wins.
They are followed by the chasing pack, two and a half games behind, consisting of Tocumwal, Berrigan and Barooga all tied on two wins.
Finley are yet to get off the mark in A-grade this season.
C-grade’s game was also washed out on Saturday, with the Rhinos now looking ahead to when they play Katamatite in Strathmerton.
A week later - their final game of the calendar year, before the Christmas break - will see them host a rematch game against Tocumwal.
There are also only two more weeks in junior cricket before the break, with the under-15s playing a two-day match against Nathalia at Memorial Park this week and next week before the break.
This Friday the under-13s Rhinos White play Katunga at Finley while the under-13s Rhinos Red are at home against Cobram.
The two Rhinos teams will then face-off at Memorial Park in the final game of the 2024, with both teams currently sitting at the top of the ladder.
