A slow start for the under-17s put the team in a position that proved too big to fight back from on Saturday.
Each team member’s effort and endeavour to be their best could not be questioned.
Although they were beaten by the better team on the day, and the result did not go the way they hoped, they gave their all.
The under-17s have had a super successful season this year and should be proud.
Under-15s: Deni Rams 25 def Moama 24.
Moama got the early lead on the under-15 girls and maintained this the majority of the game.
The girls worked hard to ensure that the game didn’t get away from them in a tight contest all over the court.
Heading into the final quarter, the girls were four goals down.
A huge home crowd cheering the under-15s on, and some positional changes, saw a swing in momentum.
The side levelled the score late in the final quarter.
The dying minutes saw Deni and Moama go goal-for-goal.
A late turnover in defence and accurate shooting saw them take a nail biting one goal win in the final seconds, and earned them a place in the grand final.
It was a huge team effort and every one in the team played an important role.
The girls should all be really proud of their determination and composure.
