The Deniliquin RSL pennant bowlers played round seven of the delayed Campspe Valley Bowls Division competition on Saturday with a resounding three out of three wins for the club.

It was victory at home for Division 2 against the Moama Steamers, while Division 4 had an emphatic win at Echuca and Division 5 were also victorious at Lockington.
Division 2:
Division 2 was victorious by seven shots, winning on two of the three rinks.

Tony Tonta and his team of Jacob Glenn, Archie Webster and Ron Marchetti set the tone for the day with a great win 24-18.
They led from the start and were challenged by Moama when they got within two shots at 13-11 on the 11th end.
However they won five of the next six ends to take out the game comfortably by six shots.
Wayne Bradley, Rod Reid, Lindsay Dalzell and Alan Hodges had a great tussle against their opposition.
Down 2-10 after six ends, they grabbed 14 shots over the next four ends to lead 16-10.
Moama rallied however, proving the steadier combination as the match drew on.
It resulted in a three shot win to Moama, 26-23.
The combination of Craig Taylor, Ian McKenzie, Miro Peterman and Jenny Tonta trailed 14-11 after 15 ends.
They then steadied to take eight shots over the remaining ends for a solid four shot victory.

Division 4:
Two emphatic wins against Echuca resulted in a great overall victory for RSL by 44 shots, 68-24.
Bruce Clancy, Peter Leifting, Sandra Hill and Ian Chessells were never headed in their match with all players contributing consistently throughout.
Echuca trailed by 28-15 after 17 ends, and took the last four ends of the last six shots of the game.
But RSL maintained their lead for a strong win, 28-15.
Jim Jenning’s team of Graeme Gordon, Brian Clancy and Neville Austin had a massive victory, completely overwhelming their opposition who only scored on four of the 21 ends.
They led 14 nil after six ends and continued their great work all afternoon.

Division 5:
Deni took on Lockington and had a big win.
Bruce Ferry’s team ensured a comfortable overall victory, with Deni scoring 46 to Lockington’s 29.
Ferry skippered Robyn Ferry, James Rhook and Vic Whittakers.
They led all day and were never threatened, winning on 16 ends for a 26-8 victory.
John Wilson’s team of Peter Todd, Peter Thommers and Callan Glenn went down by the barest margin.
They led 18-8 after 14 ends, but Lockington staged a dogged fightback.
They scored 12 shots over the last seven ends.
RSL managed only three to go down by a solitary shot, 21-20.
