The next phase in the controversial Deniliquin Swim Centre operations will take place today when the new Sydney based operators will attend a community consultation centre.

They have taken over the centre from the a local volunteer committee, with strong community opposition rejected by Edward River Council.

The LSA Group, which now operates the Deniliquin Swim Centre and Hydrotherapy Pool, will reveal a range of initiatives planned for the facility including a focus on children’s safety, at the public consultation session.

Council chief executive officer Phil Stone said he encouraged local residents to attend and share their suggestions.

“LSA will announce a range of exciting programs and initiatives, including healthier food options and sustainability initiatives,” Mr Stone said.

“This will be a great opportunity for the local community to also come down to provide their input on what they’d like to see improved.”

Mr Stone said LSA Swimming also recently became the first company in the aquatic industry to receive a Child Safeguard Certification, which aims to create and maintain safe environments for children.

The community consultation will be held at 4pm today at the Deniliquin Swim Centre.
