Mathoura Public School students delivered outstanding performances at their annual athletics carnival recently.

Their determination, athleticism and sportsmanship shone brightly on both the track and the field.
Every participant gave their all in each event, with runners, jumpers and throwers demonstrating exceptional commitment and skill, leading to remarkable achievements.
Athletes were fortunate to have incredible support from the school community, with parents, grandparents, family and friends lining the sidelines to cheer them on.

There was plenty of action to keep spectators engaged, as students took part in a range of track events including the 800m, 200m and 100m, as well as field events.
The sub-junior children had a fun-filled day taking part in track events, long jump, discus and a variety of novelty events.
At the end of the day, all students participated in a relay event, followed by a Year 6 relay against a team composed of parents, past students and staff.
Moira was the winning house with 198 points, followed by Gulpa with 162 points.

Gracie’s sportsmanship was commendable; she praised and encouraged other athletes, participated in every event and finished each event with a smile on her face.
Good luck to all students who have qualified to attend the Deniliquin District PSSA Athletics Carnival, which will be held on Thursday, August 8, in Deniliquin.
