Deniliquin netballer Sienna Elphick has picked up some handy new skills and an even greater passion for netball after competing in a Netball Victoria tournament at the weekend.
Sienna participated in the Victorian Regional Academies of Sport Inter Academy Tournament Day in Melbourne on Sunday.
An opportunity for netballers to be seen by Netball Victoria, the tournament was held at the State Netball Centre.
Earning an invite to the tournament through her performance at the Bendigo Association Championships earlier in the year, Sienna and her teammates participated in six fiercely competitive rounds.
Her mother Cathy Murphy said she made several valuable contributions to her team.
“Her hard work and dedication during training have paid off,” Cathy said.
“She performed excellently on the court and really put on a show.”
Sienna is determined to use all the skills and knowledge she has gained from the program to continue improving her game and perform to the best of her ability on the court.
She has one more training session with Netball Victoria before the season ends, and she begins her basketball training.
