One of the most popular annual tournaments is the Spring Classic, and it will be played on September 14 and 15.
It will be the usual four-ball best ball stableford format, with 18 hole events each day plus a 36 hole event.
Earlier in the month is the Mary Bradshaw Bowl, on Tuesday, September 3.
It will be single stableford and have trophies for the scratch winner, grade winners and runners-up, longest drive, nearest the pin and ball comp.
The club will again host Veterans’ Week of Golf, from October 13 to 18. Entry forms for the above three events are on the club website.
Also coming up are qualifying rounds for the major ambrose events.
Tomorrow will be men’s qualifier for the Keno 2-person ambrose and next Thursday is the women’s qualifier.
The mixed scramble qualifier is on Sunday, August 25; this is four-person ambrose.
Other events in the coming week are the mixed foursomes championship on Sunday, 9 hole competition on Tuesday and stableford on Wednesday.
Last Thursday was stableford, won by Prue Grant with 37 points from runner-up Rae Lawrence 36. Saturday was also stableford, in which Ross Pogonoski had the best score of the day recording 41 points to win A-grade, from runner-up Frank Conallin 36.
B-grade winner was Ron ‘Moot’ Turner with 38 points on countback to Jason Kerr, and C-grade winner was Kevin Keane 39 points from runner-up Nick Metcalfe 37.
A big score was needed to figure among the winners on Wednesday.
In A-grade Neil Boswell had 42 points to win on countback from John Radeski, and in B-grade Ian Campbell also had 42, defeating runner-up Rob Armytage 40.
Don’t forget the live music tomorrow night, being provided by Lachlan Downes and Andy Pearn, who are promising a night of great tunes, good company and a fantastic atmosphere.
Friday Night Fun is on again tonight, featuring raffles with quality meals available. Raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7pm, and happy hour is from 5pm to 6pm.
