The junior soccer season will be getting underway again soon.
The Deniliquin District Soccer Club (DDSC) has seen many changes and phenomenal growth over the past few years, and is looking forward to its largest ever season this winter.

The club’s annual general meeting was held on Thursday, March 13, and it saw the club’s largest re-shuffle of positions in many years.
There was a ‘changing of the guard’ to accommodate the next generation of excited and talented young soccer players.
Incoming DDSC president Jo Burn said the committee is a great combination of experience and fresh faces which will bring new ideas, skills and enthusiasm to Deniliquin’s fastest growing junior sport.
In 2024, more than 250 children met at Deniliquin’s Rotary Park every Saturday morning to perfect their skills at “the beautiful game”.
“With the expansion of the sport nationwide, DDSC is well-placed to expand its offerings this year, with the committee planning exciting new initiatives for children to take their game further,” Burn said.
“In 2023, DDSC sent its first representative team to a regional tournament, the Shepparton Cup.
“In 2024, there were four teams sent to represent DDSC and in 2025 the committee plans to send at least four teams to the popular tournament in October, dependent on this year’s local competition.
“The committee is also considering sponsoring other representational opportunities throughout the season.”
Training will be held on Thursday evenings at Deniliquin Rotary Park from 5pm, starting Thursday, May 8, and concluding Thursday, August 28.
As the club is entirely focused on juniors and families, play does not occur on the Kings Birthday long weekend (Saturday, June 8) and during school holidays (July 5, 12 and 19).
Burn said this allows families time to rest and re-charge their batteries.
An exciting development in the club’s season is the development of the first ever completely online registration process.
Families can use the QR code in the ad on this page to complete their registration, and also purchase club scarves and beanies for a special registration-only price, essential for enjoying Saturday morning games at Rotary Park.
Registrations are open now and close during the school holidays on Tuesday, April 22.
In 2023, the club introduced its first merchandise and expanded its range in 2024. Customers can peruse the DDSC offerings at Deni Clothing Co, including a brand-new release for this year, the DDSC backpack.
DDSC will have a special information session for families on Thursday, May 1 at 6pm.
At this session, the committee will give a brief presentation on the season including the rules of the game, followed by a Q&A session in which families can have all their questions answered.
The opening round and Gala Day will then be held on Saturday, May 3 from 9am.
The committee is extremely excited about this season and hopes to see even more families participating in this inclusive, energetic sport.
