Soccer insight for Conargo students

The students at Conargo Public School might be future stars of the World Cup thanks to a new school program.

Diego Sztejman from the Deniliquin & District Soccer Association has been giving the students skills lessons to help them along in their soccer journey.

Originally from South America, soccer has been a lifelong passion for the now Deniliquin-based soccer coach.

He will lead training days at the school across five weeks, sharing his knowledge of the game with students and teaching new skills to be used in a game.

And aside from inspiring a love of soccer and fitness in the children, Mr Sztejman has an ulterior motive.

With the soccer season just around the corner, he hopes to encourage more young people to join the competition.

This would then feed into Deniliquin’s other soccer club, the Deniliquin Wanderers, which plays in district adult competitions.
