On a cold windy day at Blighty, the Deni Rovers thirds got off to a strong start in Saturday’s final with Liam East sticking the first to the board with a snap through the middle.

Not long after another three came off the boots of Logan Leiper, Tyson Willis and Eddie Dudley, finding the goals with help from Cam Wills and Connor Didcock’s superb delivery into the forward line.
Tungamah was doing everything to get under our skin, but we knew it was coming and our boys remained disciplined and composed.
Connor’s run and delivery into the forward line was second to none all day, meaning he ended up with about 10 goal assists.
Our young guns Ben Hayes, Dexter Hardman and Brody Wills never cease to amaze, finding space and making Tungamah look silly.
We also had Jackson Leetham, Logan Leiper and big Jack Van Lieshout back which injected more power into the side.
Jackson, who has been out for a while with a broken ankle, kicked a cracking goal and the boys loved it.
Again Harry Way couldn’t lose a tap if he tried, and our midfield was making the most of it.
Tyson ended up with nine goals, and if he was kicking straight he would have ended up with about 35 for the day. He is sitting on 91 for the year.
Coach Chris Maher said he was really happy with the boys’ teamwork and discipline.
The club is very proud of how the boys conducted themselves during the game.
Well done boys keep on playing disciplined footy.

It was finals footy weather for the fourths on Sunday as they travelled to Jerilderie for the second qualifying final against Jerilderie.
They started strong with pressure applied all over the ground.
Connor Wilson was dominant in the ruck, tapping it forward to the run of Isaac Behsman who drilled it into the forward line.
Jerilderie started to show more attack in the second quarter which put pressure on our defence.
Jacob Holton, Lincoln Meharry and Jake Harvey tackled the pressure head on and managed to stop Jerilderie from scoring any goals.
The charge from Jerilderie kept coming in the third term, but the young Roos matched them across the ground.
Callan Glenn provided great passages of play through the centre, as well as putting his body on the line to support the backline.
The final term was tense with both sides giving it there all.
There was lots of contested play through the centre of the ground from Nick Fanning which helped the Roos hold onto their lead and take the victory.
It was a solid team effort by everyone on the field.
Final score: Deni Rovers 6.6 (42) def Jerilderie 2.15 (27).
