Simon was awarded the President’s Award for showing unwavering commitment to the club.
He manages the reserves footballers, but has always been happy to help Brendan East with the thirds and fourths if Stacy Hardman has been away. He’s also assisted Anthony Joss, who took on a different role with the seniors.
Around the club, he helps with multiple other jobs and steps up whenever called on.
Son Nick was awarded the Bond Medal for Senior Football Club Person 2024.
Nick is a quiet achiever, and along with all the normal duties expected of a player helps with extra canteen and gate duty. He is also at every working bee and did much of the work constructing the new firepits and guards on the clubrooms verandah.
The Lindsey Bulmer Memorial Medal for Senior Netball Club Person 2024 was presented to Carissa Holmberg.
In addition to normal player duties, she volunteers behind the bar on a Thursday night and will call into the canteen early each game day to see what she can help with.
She helps the trainers with strapping on home and away game days. and is a reliable volunteer for club activities.
The Arthur Wellard Memorial Club Person of the Year in 2024 is Charlie Hussey.
Charlie has been involved with the Rovers for as long as many can remember.
His passion for the club is unquestionable. He’s been a trainer, a coach and all round helper.
He is normally the last to leave on a Saturday, making sure the opposition’s change rooms are clean and bringing home all of the stuff our footballers leave behind.
