The Rhinos had a full side this week, won the toss and elected to bowl.
Tocumwal were sent in to bat and made 62 runs off the 20 overs.
Angus Henderson bowled extremely well, dismissing both openers with great deliveries.
The team continued to bowl tight with Ben MacDonald, Daniel Burn and Red Ricon all picking up two wickets each.
When it came time to bat, the Rhinos sent Will Crossley and Jaxon Rothe to the crease.
They handled some very good pace bowling from Tocumwal.
Both opening batsman retired not out, with Jaxon being the team’s top scorer on 31 runs.
The wickets then started to fall for the Rhinos, looking like they would be all dismissed before reaching the required runs.
That was until Charlie Eastman and Angus steadied the ship with some good running between wickets.
Jaxon returned to the crease and finished the game strongly for the Reds, to win the match by 19 runs.
Joint Players of the Match were Jaxon Rothe and Angus Henderson.
Under-13s White
Round three found Rhinos White travelling to play the Cobram Tigers at Cobram Showgrounds.
Rhinos captain Tom Marshall won the toss and sent the Tigers in to bat.
Cobram were scoring at a steady rate of six runs an over, with their first five batters retiring after facing their allotted number of deliveries.
It was in the 9th over that Rhinos debutant Tom Dudley took the first wicket, bowling Cobram’s Nate Chesworth.
By the 12th over, the Rhinos had managed to slow the scoring and the over saw two quick wickets, Henry Campion bowling out Charlotte Cameron and a run out thanks to George Marshall dismissing Kegan Hollands.
Henry Pisasale took the fourth wicket in the 14th over with Cobram now 4-67.
Cobram’s opening batter and highest scorer Kohen Verner returned to the crease and the scoring opened up again with a class batting display.
Rhinos took Cobram’s fifth wicket in the final over thanks to the bowling of Jacob Holschier and a great catch from Pisasale in the field.
Cobram finished their innings five for 122.
The Rhinos had to come out firing, and that is exactly what Jacob Holschier did scoring five boundaries across the first two overs.
Jacob’s opening partner Henry Pisasale found the boundary in the third over but was then dismissed at the start of the fourth, with Rhinos 1 for 32.
Fletcher Smith helped steady the ship and when Tom Marshall came to the crease, following Jacob’s retirement, the boundaries started to flow again.
Tom scored five of his own, and Fletcher wasn’t going to miss out finding the boundary twice himself.
The Rhinos lost their next wicket, with Mikey Benger being bowled and the Rhinos were 2-75 at the end of the 10th over.
The run rate slowed with the Rhinos losing two quick wickets in the 14th and another in the 16th, with the score at 5-85.
Jacob returned to the crease and got the scoreboard moving again.
Deni needed a tough 23 runs off the final over.
They managed to make a credible 13 runs, including a four and six to Jacob.
Cobram took the win by just nine runs.
Jacob finished with 42 off just 26 balls, with Tom 25 off 15 and Fletcher 11 off 15.
Coach Adam Marshall awarded this week’s coach’s award to Henry Pisasale.
