Deniliquin RSL’s Division 5 weekend pennant team was the only club side to taste success on Saturday, with a strong win away against Lockington.

RSL won on both rinks with Lindsay Dalzell, Archie Webster, Sandra Hill and Glenys Chessells having the best result of the day with a great 14 shots win over the home side - 28-14.
Ken Bowden, Peter Thommers, Danny Stanmore and Graeme Gordon were not to be outdone, also winning in convincing style by 11 shots, 26-11.
With three rounds to go, Division 5 is well-placed to progress on to finals, consolidating fourth spot after their win.
Division 2 went so close against neighbours Deniliquin Bowling Club, but were down by four shots overall 64-60.
Tony Tonta, James Roho, Chris Frampton and Darcy Nilsson won convincingly on their rinks with a 17-shot margin, 31-17.
Mary-Anne Spizer, Jenny Tonta, Tim Dover and Gaye Goodwin could not be separated from their Bowling Club opponents, going shot-for-shot for the majority of the afternoon.
An 18-all draw was a fitting result.
Linda Harris, Jim Jennings, Callan Glenn and Peter Wilson were no match for a strong Bowling Club combination, succumbing by 18 shots, 29-11.
In Division 3, RSL made the long trek to Elmore.
They won on one rink but went down on the other two, suffering an overall loss by 11 shots.
Ron Marchetti, Rod Reid, Craig Taylor and Ian Chessells led all day on their rink to claim a solid six shots victory, 20-14.
Gary Hulm, Wayne Bradley, Niels Hilton and John Hulm were level at 9-all after 11 ends, but did not score for the next seven ends and eventually went down 19-12.
John Wilson, Paul Connor, Jo Chick and Jacob Glenn went down 24-14, despite the best efforts of lead bowler Jacob Glenn who led superbly all day.
