The result from the match between the second and third placed teams would be important, as they were divided by two sets only - Mitre 10 in second with 68 sets and Legal Eagles two sets behind.
Mitre 10 set the early pace and won the first two rounds, and were leading 11 sets to eight.
There was a huge turnaround in the third round, which saw the Eagles win seven sets to two, and to claim a victory with 15 sets to 13.
After 238 games of tennis, the scores were equal on 119 games each.
But it ain’t over until the soprano sings.
Mitre 10 had one three set winner, Elyse Hood, while Mick Farley, Tom Hooke and Jamie Howard won three for Legal Eagles.
The result lead to the Eagles moving to second place on 83 sets, and Mitre 10 to third on 81 sets.
Peppin Planners faced off against the last placed Deniliquin Newsagency.
It was a strong win for the ladder leaders, with Peppin winning 22 sets with 156 games to six sets and 92 games for Newsagency.
Peppin had eight three set winners.
Peppin is making the competition look a bit lop-sided with their strong wins, and just about every player winning two or three sets each.
The next round will see continuing ladder leaders Peppin Planners play off against Legal Eagles, who occupy second place at present.
The autumn competition has three rounds to be played.
Teams will all play each other once more before the grand final between teams first and second on Wednesday, April 9.
