The seniors came up against Milawa on Saturday in what was a much-needed win at home going into the last three home-and-away games for the season. The pressure around the ball was intense from both teams.
Jamie Dunne was back into the side after injury, which was a bonus for the boys. Sully Malay with his pace at ground level gave the boys plenty of the ball, with the back line standing tall led by Alex Moloney.
Evergreen Charles Hunter played a great game up forward setting up teammates and finishing with three of his own goals, with a special mention to Victor Butler playing one of his best games for the season so far.
Well done boys, you can hold your heads high and this win should give you confidence going into the end of the season.

Coming up against ladder leaders, the Bats knew it was going to be a challenge. The girls showed some great passages of play as they celebrated Ally Ellis’s 250th game and challenged Milawa at times. Even though the score didn’t reflect the game, it was played in great competitive spirit. All 10 Bats players played well and managed the changes smoothly. Looking for a strong finish to the year the girls look to bounce back next week and try and get a couple more wins.
Awards: Best on – Ally Ellis – Di’s Diamond Cleaning. 2nd – Kylie Relf – Terry White Pharmacy. 3rd – Nikki Wallace – Bill-Bo-Pop.

The Bats had another day of opportunities, as they had a number of girls away.
Ruby Martin stepped up and played a fantastic WD role, making her attacker work really hard to find the right feed.
The Bats mid-court worked tirelessly all day with Tiffany Kirkpatrick and Elise Nolan showing great drive and pressure all over. Elise's versatility was used as she played a great captain’s game.
Milawa had the accuracy each quarter which let it gain a handy lead.
Bats defenders Fiona Doig and Alyssa Priest had a hard task of the well-oiled goalies. They gave some great turnarounds and opportunities.
Lisa Johnson and Aneiki Pierce had some tight defence and had to work extremely hard. Milawa forced the goalies shot and capitalised on any turnaround. Bats will regroup to contend with Moyhu at home which was a close game last time.
Awards: Best on — Elise Nolan — Royal Hotel. 2nd — Tiffany Kirkpatrick — Madison Jane Hair. 3rd — Lisa Johnson — Rambling Rose.
B-Reserve
Bats 18, Milawa 76
The B-Reserve team had a good game on Saturday, showing its improvement over the season. Its ability to move the ball down court has improved out of sight. Grace Handley and Abby Hammond were instrumental in beating a strong zone defence. Kate Nolan and Ella Woods had to make smart leads in the ring, where they were able to read each other well. Hannah Coote in defence worked hard all game to try and slowed down Milawa’s strong attacking play. We look forward to our last game next weekend against Moyhu.

After a well-needed break the Bats came out firing, but the Demons were ready to take on the challenge with a close first quarter. Our defenders worked hard and were able to get many intercepts, with Lacey Carter and Eleanor Renkin fighting hard for the ball, while Molly Martin and Matilda Hopkins put pressure over every ball down the mid-court.
Shooters Poppy Broomhall and Sophie Hammond were able to keep their cool and play their game as the Demons were not going down without a fight. Charli Button put lots of pressure down the whole court and was able to get many intercepts, keeping the Demons to two goals in the last quarter. As the season progresses the Bats continue to improve and have many great passages of play.
Awards: Best on — Charlie Button — Hume Solar. 2nd — Sophie Hammond — Hume Solar. 3rd — Poppy Broomhall — Sportspower.

We finally had a day back at home and the girls had an amazing game. Amelia Keen, Willow Hamill, Pippa Martin, Indy Stovell and Ella Hogan all rotated fantastically through the mid-court, making some amazing leads and getting the ball down to the ring to score. Yolanda Bourke and Alarna Button played a strong game in the attacking end, working on moving around the ring. Amali Mackenzie and Charli Levy kept their heads up in defence and never gave up. We are so proud of the girls and their efforts during the game and can’t wait to see what the last two weeks hold.
