It was another very successful weekend for the Deniliquin Bowling Club with the Premier Fours tournament being contested last Saturday and Sunday.

The club was particularly pleased with the continued support from teams from near and far, with the Bannockburn club alone bringing six of the 30 sides.
Each played three matches on Saturday and a further two on Sunday, with the Barham combination the only side to win all five.
Brian Mainsbridge skipped his team including Steven Arthur, Paul Clear and Mark Quor to the comfortable victory, and claimed the very healthy $4000 first prize.
Mick Coram, Phil Mustoe, George Lambos and Daniel Earl made the long trek from the Latrobe Valley, and more than paid for the petrol money when they picked up $500 each in being the runners-up.
Filling the minor placings was the Cohuna team of Mick Carmody, Ian Coates, Craig Whittaker and “Bluey” Fletcher, and the Moama crew of Paul Newcombe, Glenn Dorward and Barry and Kevin Brennan.
A big crowd attended the club the night before the tournament, with the Friday night raffle extremely well-supported.
The holder of the last number drawn gets to spin the wheel for the chance at some fabulous prizes due to the generous contributions from our local sponsors.
One of those prizes is a cash jackpot which has been steadily building up for the best part of two years thanks to the kind support from Gen and Gary Bibby, the owners of the Deniliquin Motel.
And I am more than happy to report that a certain Sharon Daly was fortunate enough to land on the right number, and claim the $1240. I wonder if I will get to see my share.
