Bain was reappointed to the top position last week.
The Blighty seniors finished at the bottom of the Picola league ladder this year, with not a single win recorded against their name.
But Bain said what has improved out of sight is the foundations of the club.
He said that is what he will continue to work on for season 2023.
That should then illicit results that match the effort being put into games, he said.
“Although it was a tough year, the results don’t reflect the foundation we are building as a club - especially for the next few years ahead”.
Bain said he will take stock of the player skills on offer in the club and identify any gaps or weaknesses that need to be addressed.
He said doing this will allow him to take a more strategic approach to recruitment.
With more than 300 games under his belt already, Bain has not yet committed to running on the field again in 2023.
He may take on coaching full time, but may also pull the jumper on for the reserves. He said he will “mull it over” in the off season.
It was in 1994 that Bain first strapped on the boots for his beloved club, then as a fresh faced junior.
He was elevated to seniors in 2003.
Across his coaching journey of thirds, reserves and now the senior side, he is admired for getting the best out of the older players and being able to motivate the younger ones.
In 2019, Mr Bain led the reserves side to premiership glory and hopes to build on the factors that created such a winning combination.
