The nationally ranked player and qualified coach has announced the first ‘Come and Try’ night for all ages and abilities, which will be held at the Deniliquin stadium on May 10.
Earlier this month, James travelled to New Zealand to represent Australia in the Penberthy Cup test match and 2023 New Zealand Open Veteran Championships.
She said the Aussie medal count was high but the overall result between Australia and New Zealand in the Test Match was a draw, with equal matches won and lost by both countries.
“The event was divided up into teams of men and women in various age groups,” she said.
“My teammate, Jeanne Strong, and I were very happy to win our hard-fought test match against New Zealand 3-2.”
“If we hadn't won ours, then it would not have been a draw. We would have been one down, so we were happy about that.”
James and Strong went on to win a silver medal in the Women’s O65 Doubles.
“It was a great event; strong competition but very friendly,” she said.
“I loved it. It was great to represent Australia, and I will be aiming to take part again next year.”

Now back in Deniliquin, James is welcoming anyone to attend the first table tennis ‘Come and Try’ night at the Deniliquin Sports Stadium.
Starting from May 10, it will continue each Wednesday from 7pm.
“There's no charge, it will be free,” she said.
“We will have a training robot set up for a demo, and for people to try out.
“It’s open to people of all ages and abilities. Equipment will be provided, or bring your own bat if desired.
“Anyone who wants to have their children coached, I'll be there every Wednesday night to give out advice at any stage.”
James said she is “really hoping to get the club up and running”, with competition to follow when they have enough members.
“It’s a great sport, both physically and mentally, and one which you can play for life,” she said.
“Also, it’s very good for people with disabilities. We have a very strong Para component.”
Anyone interested in coming along on May 10 is asked to register an interest by calling James on 0427 100 818.
