The runner-up was Jimmy Poka jnr with a round of 77.
The net winner was Peter Bisset with 72, from runner-up Vince Kelly 74.
Saturday was a stroke event for the men’s monthly medal, won by Geoff Corboy with net 71.
The two grades were dominated by the women, with Shandra Simpson taking out A-grade with net 69 and Corboy the runner-up, while Marg Menadue had an excellent net 66 to win B-grade from runner-up Ron ‘Moot’ Turner 72.
Last Thursday was the ladies monthly medal, won by Carol Hardman with net 71. She also won the day’s medley event, with Russell Begg runner-up, also net 71.
On Wednesday the A-grade winner, continuing his good form, was Jimmy Poka jnr with 37 points from runner-up Peter Joice 36. B-grade winner was Peter O’Brien, who had a day out to record 42 points, from runner-up Lee Pattinson 39.
Coming up we have the coveted Borella Cup for the men tomorrow in conjunction with a stableford event, and similarly the Rita Barnes Goblet for the ladies on Thursday, also with a stableford event.
Tuesday is nine holes stableford, Wednesday the usual stableford and next Saturday is versus par for the Bruce Laing Cup. Next Sunday is the Mixed Keno two-person ambrose.
Golfers are reminded you can now select which tee you want to play off in Wednesday and Saturday singles medley events – white, red or yellow.
Note there is a suspension to holes-in-one awards until there is clarification with the new tee system.
Dirty Dick’s Theatre Restaurant is fast approaching, on Thursday, July 25.
