Deni Newsagency proved far superior to Peppin Planners in the play-off for the top prize and the winner’s medals.

Deni Newsagency led the competition all season and won the grand final.
Newsagency won 20 sets and 153 games to Peppin Planners 10 sets and 109 games.
It was a strong team effort for the winners with eight of their 20 players winning their three sets.
They were Ben Chartres (C), Haydn McKay, Jack McGrillen, Rowan Frazer, Henry Osborne, Praveen Kotholla, Elyse Hood and Bella Gow.
For Peppin Planners only two players were able to walk off winning their three sets - Jim McDonald and James Hermiston.
The intense competition was on show in the match-up of Emma Wettenhall playing Donna McCluskey.
Emma paired with Chloe Sztejman and won the first round set, 6-5.
Donna paired with Alicia Osborne and won the second round, 6-1.
In the mixed round, Emma paired with Zac Pearce and they won 6-4.
So at the end of the match, Emma won two sets and 13 games while Donna won one set and 15 games.
Newsagency won the three rounds - 7-3 in both the first and second round, and 6-4 in the mixed round, giving them 20 of the 30 sets played.
Additionally, Newsagency lost two sets decided by a tie-break.
At the top of the men’s table Jon Gatacre got the best of Mark Ritchie winning two sets and 14 games while Mark won one set and 11 games.
The best average of the season among the ladies was Lucy Horne.
Lucy was able to win 16 and a half games on average each week out of a possible 18 games.
With the men it was James Gatacre winning on average 17 games each week from the possible 18 an outstanding achievement for a junior player.
In the grand final, James won 16 games playing as the number six player.
James was also the winner of the best performing junior.
Members and new players are reminded that the next competition starts on Wednesday, February 12 and will end just before the Easter break.
The club plans to scarify the lawn courts this week, so they will be out of action for most of January.
However, the six hard courts are available and four of those courts are well-lit for night tennis.
Players are welcome over the hot break over January.
James Gatacre won the three-set award in both the men’s and junior sections.
