For football, first on the agenda was a medal presentation for all of the Saints under-11s footballers.
There were smiles across the young stars’ faces - plenty enough to light up the room.
The under-14s grade was up next as votes began to scroll across the big screen.
It was a nail-biting finish, which saw Jordan Swann take out best and fairest, followed closely behind by Jack Magill in a terrific effort by both kids.
Next on the run sheet was the reserves, where League medallist Matthew Ross was an obvious leader throughout the count.
He ended it by adding a club best and fairest on his resume.
Following Matthew was Alex Park with the runner-up award, capping off his tremendous season.
Lastly in the votes category was the all anticipated seniors.
Long time footballing gun Grant Martin was this year’s best and fairest winner for the Saints.
It was an impressive run home to snatch the lead from runner-up Jordan Bird just before the final card.
A terrific effort by both of these men with well-deserved recognition.
Other award recipients on the day that deserve a mention is Noel Baxter and Cara Loats, who both received their Berrigan Football Club life memberships after being generous stalwarts of the club for countless seasons.
Linda Cameron was awarded the DG Cameron Memorial Club Person of the Year for her extended and continued commitment and unwavering love towards the Berrigan Football Club.
Austin Ware was honoured with Junior Club Person of the year.
His help in the senior grades this year certainly didn’t go unnoticed, especially by all the players wanting water during the games.
