With smaller fields playing the back six holes, and no revenue at all in the clubhouse, it is going to take a significant effort to recover from this setback.
This is sure to be one of the issues up for discussion at the Golf Club’s annual general meeting on Sunday, November 27 at 11am.
A venue is yet to be confirmed, and will depend on whether the clubhouse is open at that time.
Nominations are open for the board of directors and need to be received by tomorrow November 12.
Among the many events that have been postponed is the 27 Club wind-up.
Again, this will be rescheduled when the club is open again.
On Saturday we played the monthly medal, sponsored by Josh’s Bakehouse.
Men’s winner was Chris Thomson with net 75 and ladies winner was Kerran Leetham with net 77.
They were A-grade winner and runner-up respectively.
It was the start of a big few days for Kerran, who travelled to Wagga Wagga early this week to contest Division One of the Golf NSW Medal play-offs.
Kerran scored an excellent net 71 to win the regional final and will now compete in state finals to be held in Sydney later this month.
B-grade winner on Saturday was Sue Hancock with net 80, from Marg Radeski net 81.
On Wednesday the winner in A-grade was Ross Taylor with 38 points by a shot to Troy Grant, and in B-grade Warren Bull had 35 to score from runner-up Ian Campbell 31.
This week we have a stableford event tomorrow, then the regular ladies’ events on Tuesday and Thursday, with men’s stableford on Wednesday.
Next Saturday there is a fourball best ball.
Members are asked to continue supporting the Bowls Club with their Friday night raffles.
