The side claimed the coveted Swan Shield in a thrilling match in Albury on Tuesday.
It is the first time Deniliquin High School has brought home the Swan Sheild since 2008.
Teacher and coach Jamie Loy said their boys braved the heat and a strong Billabong High School when they did battle on Tuesday.
They arrived in Albury early in the morning, accompanied by family and a bus full of their fellow students, prepared to bring some serious skills to the field.
The entire game was a close contest, and as the clock ran down Deni High held a six-point lead.
In the final moments of the game, players and spectators held their breaths when a Billabong High player attempted to level out the scores with a kick.
The ball soared toward the goal posts, but the final siren sounded before it sailed through the centre.
Making the goal invalid, the match concluded with Deni High defeating their opponents 6.7 (43) to 5.7 (37).
There were cheers all around for the Deni High players as they received their medals on the field.
