After a three year hiatus from gymnastics, Nick actually claimed two championship titles at the May 15 event, held in Orange.
He was the level five men’s tumbling champion and the level four men’s double mini trampoline champion.
Adam was the level six men’s tumbling champion.
He was also second to Nick in the level four men’s double mini trampoline.
Nick and Adam were among 10 athletes who went to Orange for the competition, under the guidance of Flipstars head coach Rachel Bucholtz.
Three other Deniliquin competitors returned home with placings:
Amelie Bulmer - third in level five women’s tumbling.
Lilly Boyer - second in level four women’s tumbling.
Zoe Harvey - third in level three women’s tumbling.
Bucholtz said all Deni competitors performed admirably, many appearing at their first ever competition.
It was also the first time any Deni athlete had competed in the double mini trampoline, and with only a few weeks to practice before the championships.
“The level three team of Lara Horne, Alexis Bucholtz, Zoe Harvey and Isabella Goodear all performed solid tumbling passes, and all landed their front salto jumps off the double mini trampoline, which makes me so proud.
“For Adam Aylett, Lilly Boyer, Isabella, Sophie Bulmer and Emilia Bucholtz it was their first ever competition, and we were very happy to also have Nick back from a three year break from the sport.”
