The club, its members and supporters were all ready to show the hard work that has been put in the lead up to this event and across the course of past seasons.
On the Saturday, the Deniliquin Swim Club were awarded the most points by a club at the long course meet.
They also had 107 personal best times recorded on the day, with plenty of members receiving medals.
Swim Club president Chris Butcher said he was happy with the results and the running of the event, in large part thanks to all the volunteers and club people chipping in.
“We had 29 of our swimmers attend the carnival, along with three new little Come and Try members.
“Overall, we had 133 swimmers from across the region, which is a fantastic turn out.
“Team Deni had a very successful day, winning the overall points score for the day and most impressively, managing 107 personal bests.
“What an amazing effort by our swimmers, their hard work and dedication at training has paid off.”
The club praised the support of parent volunteers, giving “thanks and gratitude to those who helped with jobs on the day”, including with stroke judging, chief recorder, marshalling and many other jobs.
“Our carnival is only possible thanks to the efforts of many volunteers working hard behind the scenes.
“Many businesses and families supported us with their generous raffle donations.
“Brian McCleary & Co Accountants generously donated an adult pass to the Ute Muster which was matched by a second pass donated by the Ute Muster themselves.
“Both of these were won by visiting families - a great way to attract people back to our town.
“A special mention also goes to Edward River Council who supported this event, through a grant.
“Our club was successful in attracting many visitors to our town yesterday from across the region and this grant helped ensure a very positive experience for all.”
The next event for Deniliquin Swim Club members is this Saturday and Sunday in Griffith.
