Wagga Wagga was the backdrop for the Under-15’s Riverina Gala day of knockout netball competition, where Deniliquin High School was among the 18 teams.

Deni played five games in their pool, winning all games convincingly.
This moved the DHS team to finals, where a 16-7 win against Billabong High School in the semi- final saw them head to the grand finals.
The girls came up against Albury High School, who maintained thier unbeaten run in the final game of the day.
It was goal-for-goal until the final whistle, with Deni High going down 18-19.
DHS teacher Alex Glowrey, who accompanied the team, said DHS put in a quality performance.
“The girls played smart, skilled netball and had some beautiful passages of play,” she said.
“It was a real team effort. Everybody performed well in their positions and gave their all”.
Despite being runners-up, the team’s progression through the gala day saw them qualify for the state titles.
They will be played from October 31 to November 1.
The team consists of Eliza Atley, Makayla Finn, Molly Bradley, Hazel Glowrey, Chelsea Weir, Ava Richards, Emma Parks, Paige Brown and Ava Robinson.
