They will be shown alongside those gathered by event organisers and DDCA life members at the October event.
To be held October 11 and 12, the celebrations will coincide with the first round of the 2024/2025 Murray Valley Cricket Association season for the Deniliquin Rhinos Cricket Club - Deniliquin’s only cricket team.
Life member Gerry Corrigan said even with some new items for the display, organisers are still seeking and sourcing memorabilia to be displayed.
This week’s feature game researched was RSL’s second consecutive A-grade season win in 2000/01.
Reporting on the game in the Pastoral Times read as follows:
RSL held off a gallant Hay to win back-to-back A-grade flags in the Deniliquin District Cricket Association.
Set a second innings run chase of 238, Hay fell 81 runs short late on Sunday as RSL collected its second Tom Woods Shield in as many years.
There were no real heroes for either side, the grand final more a tug-of-war between RSL’s depth and Hay’s determination.
Possibly the highlight of a relatively one-sided grand final was the colourful performance of Hay off-spinner Scott Wall.
On the final day of the scheduled four day contest Wall donned a turban in light of Indian Test spinner Harbhajan Singh’s recent demolition of the Australian batsmen.
Wall’s antics paid dividends as he took 4/5 from eight overs to get his side back in the back in the match by lunch on Sunday.
However the spotlight belonged to RSL as its bowlers suffocated the Hay batsmen.
Final score: RSL 235 and 92 def Hay 8/89 dec and 157.
