Corboy had 39 points to win the A-grade stableford event as well as the Borella Cup on Saturday, while Butcher had 41 points to win C-grade and the Rita Barnes Goblet.
Noel Nicholas recorded 38 points to be A-grade runner-up; B-grade winner was Peter Seely on 37 from Ken Maher 35, and C-grade runner-up was John Henderson with 38.
Last Thursday was a stableford event won in A-grade by the consistent Vicki Brunker with a superb 40 points, from runner-up Jenny Swainger 36. B-grade winner was Sarah Young 39 from runner-up Jenny Adamson 36.
In Wednesday’s stableford event the A-grade winner was Brian Dixon on 36 points from runner-up Peter Oddy 35, and in B-grade Geoff ‘Zorro’ Bessell had 39 from runner-up Bernie Biggs 37.
Also, this week the club has welcomed visitors for our annual Veterans Week of Golf.
There are a host of feature events in coming weeks.
Next Friday evening, October 25, will be the Tee Up For Cancer fundraiser, which is a 9-hole ambrose with 5pm assembly for 5.30pm shotgun start. Entry is $20 per person, enter as a team or individually and no handicap or membership is required.
Entries are also being taken for the Legends Pro-Am on Tuesday, October 29. Hole sponsors are $550 per team and individual entries are $50 for morning play and $80 in the afternoon, if there are spots available.
Summer Sixers returns as soon as teams are organised. Get a group together and register at the Pro Shop. This is a fantastic opportunity to have some fun, enjoy the outdoors, and showcase your skills on the course!
Summer Sixers is a 9 hole competition for a team of six players. You can play as many rounds as you like each week with your best score counting, then the top four scores from your team counts in the weekly round. The competition is open to all social golfers, and you do not need a handicap. Team registration is $150 which can be paid at the Pro Shop.
Regular events over the next week include a fourball best ball stableford tomorrow, which is the final round of the Eastman knockout. On Tuesday, the 9-hole competition will be stroke, Wednesday is the usual medley stableford, Thursday will be stroke and Saturday, October 26 is stableford.
Friday Night Fun continues tonight, with raffle tickets on sale from 6pm, happy hour from 6pm to 7pm and quality meals available at a reasonable price.
