Captain John Radeski and former manager Norm Purtill were the ‘form’ players in the men’s division, while Jane Glowrey and Prue Chalmers dominated the women’s division in the Winter Classic at the weekend.

In the fourball best ball stableford event Radeski and Purtill combined to win Saturday’s event with 44 points, and followed it up with 43 points on Sunday.
This total also gave them victory in the 36 holes event.
The Sunday men’s winners were Andrew ‘Taffy’ Brunker and Kevin Lawrence with 45 points, and they also won the 36 holes scratch.
Glowrey and Chalmers scooped the pool in the women’s division.
They won on Saturday with 44 points, followed it up with a very impressive 49 points on Sunday and scored a convincing 10 shots win in the 36 holes event with 93 points.
Women’s scratch winners were Shandra Simpson and Prue Lloyd.
It was another successful classic weekend for the club.
Last Thursday the ladies played stroke for their monthly medal, which was won by the consistent Vicki Brunker with net 71.
She also won A-grade on countback to Sarah Lugsdin, and B-grade winner was Jennifer Adamson net 72 by a shot to runner-up Anita Gorsuch.
Wednesday’s stableford event was played in cool winter conditions.
A-grade winner was Gary Stephens with 37 points from runner-up Peter Locke 36, and B-grade scores were low, with the winner David Grant 34 on countback to Graeme Rothwell.
A highlight on Wednesday was a hole-in-one for Graeme ‘Wrecker’ Willoughby on the second hole from the red markers.
In the week ahead we continue to have plenty of golf, starting today with the Deniliquin Women’s Open.
Tomorrow is stableford, Tuesday is Canadian foursomes, Wednesday is stableford, Thursday is versus par, next Saturday is stableford and next Sunday is a fourball best ball for the Nisbet Knockout.
The following Sunday, June 30, will be the Women’s Scramble, which is fourball best ball, 10.30am assembly for 11am shotgun start.
