Division 1 travelled to Echuca and came home with a solid 54-43 victory.
Shane Laing’s rink went down 10 shots to 19, while Jamie Shields skipped his crew to a 21-17 win.
The difference in the match proved to be the combination of Terry Boyer, Graham Nisbet, Stuart Treble and Simon Chisholm (skip) who scored a thumping win, 23 shots to seven, and ensured the overall 11 shot victory.
Division 2 hosted Echuca, who are second on the ladder, and scored a good 59-51 victory, while grabbing a clear fourth place on the ladder after five rounds.
David Hessel’s side lost 15-22, while Paul ‘Trapper’ Snare led his mob to a comfortable win, 21 shots to 13, after being tied at 9-all after 11 ends.
Bryan Kemnitz’s rink including Tyler and Craig Hillier and Andrew Holloway were also level at the halfway mark, but they too did their best work late to go on to a good 23-16 win, and secured the overall eight shot victory.
Division 3 won a thriller against Mathoura by a solitary shot when they prevailed, 61 shots to 60.
Mark Law’s rink had their noses in front for most of the contest before winning 17 shots to 15, while Keith Hay’s side scored a similar win 22 shots to 18.
The overall victory looked well out of reach when the final group of Robyn Little, John Croker, Maxine Norton and skipper Tom Todd trailed six shots to 21 after 13 ends.
They fought back courageously from there, however, including a ‘seven’ on end 15, before going down 22 shots to 27, which was just enough to claim the overall one shot victory.
Division 5’s recent good form was halted by neighbours Deni RSL, who claimed a narrow victory, 41 shots to 38.
Lloyd Ritchie’s side including Jeff Longstaff, Matt Crothers and Russell Douglas scored a comfortable win, 23 shots to 15, and it looked likely that Deniliquin would score another solid win overall when Col Knuckey’s rink was up 14-11 after 15 ends.
They could only muster a single shot thereafter, however, while the RSL crew amassed 14 on the last six ends, and claimed the overall three shot victory.
