There were more than 280 nominations, with 270 athletes and their families attending the carnival at the Hardinge St Oval.
There were 22 Little Athletics Clubs represented, including Essendon and Yarra Valley.
Large teams from Swan Hill, Shepparton and Echuca/Moama were also in attendance.
There were more than 260 events hosted, starting at competitions for under-5s and up to the open categories.
In the open, there was a wonderful team of older women having a go from Echuca/Moama.
Many of the open athletes were also watching their children compete and helping officiate at events demonstrating Little Athletics can be a whole family experience.
It takes an army of volunteers to run an athletics carnival with over 50 people needed to run all the event stations and canteen.
We thank all our members along with all the participating clubs with many of their members assisting on event stations all day.
Without every club’s assistance events like these are not possible.
It was wonderful observing all the sportsmanship, smiling faces and new friendships formed.
The highlight of the day was the relay events where no prizes were up for grabs but everyone having a go.
Twenty-five relay teams entered over four events and there was great cheering as clubs cheered their teams home.
Full results from the carnival had not been released at the time of going to print yesterday.
For our members who enjoyed their carnival experience, we encourage you to register for both Swan Hill and Albury carnivals which are happening in early December.
We remind our members this Friday is our Coles Community round where we encourage you to dress up for the Coles theme.
There will be some novelty events included in the program with prizes up for grabs.
Don't forget to stick around for the barbecue.
