The Pigeons boys were terrific in their approach to every contest. They brought each other in to the game with efficient handball, unselfish acts of support and quick and composed ball movement. Every line of defence and attack played their role to afford the Yarrawonga forwards every opportunity and when the chances came they capitalised well.
This gave a great start and the boys continued to do the basics well to result in a solid win first up.
Some outstanding personal efforts, enabled by an outstanding team effort was a joy to watch.
Awards: Mac Hargreaves, Ned Saunders and Harry Wrenn.

Fantastic team effort first up! The newly appointed co-captains Sam Bigger and Zac “Swervin Merv” Forge led from the front.
Ryder Stevens and Charlie Rae also showed great leadership. Ryan Cameron and Lucas “Rabbit” Eales were impassable down back.
Bayden Sage kicked a good early goal from a pack. “Swervin Merv” Forge continued to weave his way through traffic.
Gus Saunders and Jobe Fraser gave strong targets up forward. Was good to see Jordan Ibbott back playing after missing much of the last few seasons with injuries.
Welcome to Lucas Eales and Will Murphy (Tungamah), Jace Gove (Mulwala), Allen Lindrea (Shepparton), Declan Hare (Melbourne).
Thanks to Mulwala Football Netball Club for allowing the Pigeons to play their home game at the Lonsdale Reserve.
