Reserves captain Aiden Free was declared the winner of the Damien Jones Medal with 19 votes, one vote clear of the runner-up and fellow teammate Logan Ives.
Described as a captain who leads by example, Aiden led his team to the semi-finals where they fell agonisingly short of further finals glory.
Versatile under-15s netballer Ava Richards also claimed a B&F for her grade, with 22 votes.
As well as playing finals this year, Ava has had a number of representative opportunities throughout the season and looks to be a future talent to watch for the club.
Another of the club’s netballers was also singled out during the awards ceremony, with versatile midcourt sensation Annie Harvey winning the Wendy Brooks Rookie of the Year Award.
Annie has had a stellar year playing for both under-17s and A-grade, and she will line up with A-grade when they play the grand final tomorrow.
Annie also gained selection in the North Central Netball Region Team and will compete in the Netball Victoria state titles in October.
The vote count was hosted in Moama on Sunday night.
The night also included the announcement of the league’s best, through the announcement of representative teams.
Deniliquin’s under15s side, which will play in a grand final tomorrow, was named as the best defensive side of the year.
A number of other Deni natballers were selected for the rep teams, as follows: Open -Annie Harvey, Ella Harvey, Rhiannon Maxwell and Chloe Wayl Under-17 - Annie Harvey, Phoebe Jefferies, Bonnie Everett and Chloe Way; Under-15 - Emma Parks and Ava Richards; Under-13 - Ava Marshall.
