The Deniliquin Outdoor Pool Incorporated Learn To Swim Program started on Monday.
The community run program is four days into its 10 days of sessions, January 6 to January 17.
The huge program has 18 volunteers, helping teach 140 kids in 25-minute sessions.
It includes nine qualified swim instructors, some with more than 50 years of experience.
These sessions are spread into 10 groups from 5pm to 7pm each weekday.
The program oversees all levels from beginner to stroke correction.
The only condition for booking was that the swimmers must be at least five years old and the fee is $20 per family for the two weeks, which does not include pool entry at the Deni Swim Centre.
Conditions for the program have been excellent, it was a cool start on Monday but since then, it has been great weather.
Complementing the program, the Rotary Club of Deniliquin is planning to put on a barbecue at Rocket Park each Friday night of the program.
The program organisers wanted to give a big thanks to Deni Swim Centre and all the volunteers for making the program possible.
For all other swimmers, the Deni Swim Centre recreation area, toddler pool and splash park are open with lane five open for lap swimmers and half the middle pool open to the public.
The LSA SwimVAC 2025 will also run from next week, from January 13, with some Deniliquin school age beginner classes, which run from 9.30am to 10.15am, open for bookings. Contact the swim centre for details.
