• ‘Great DNA: Deni netballers shine on Ky courts’ - Three teams of Deni netballers hit the road for the Kyabram Netball Association Tournament. The under-17s won their way through to the grand final and beat Echuca 10-6. The under-13 rep side places third, and the under-11s were all standout performers.
• ‘Masters of Deniliquin badminton’ - Shuttle Masters were crowned the winners of the 2022 badminton summer season. The side met Smashers in the grand final, surging ahead with a score of 347-319.
• ‘Deniliquin athletes flip out over results’ - Deniliquin was home to two regional tumbling champions, with Adam Aylett and Nick Caruso (two wins) claiming first place wins at the Regional and Tumbling Championships.
• ‘Blighty breaks drought’ - Blighty’s senior footballers delivered their first win of the Picola League season on the same weekend four footy milestones were being celebrated. In round 10, seniors playing coach Kyel Bain played his 300th game. He was also bestowed club life membership on the day. Brett Napier was also made a life member, and marked 200 senior games. Other milestone games were achieved by Leigh Culton and Jarrod Andrews, with 250 senior games each.
• ‘Caruso makes state squad’ - Deni High footballer Jerrah Caruso was selected in the NSW All Schools Australian Rules Squad. She was chosen based on her performance while representing Riverina at a football carnival.
• ‘Cutters lift for milestone netballers’ - Mathoura’s A-grade netballers returned to the winners’ list in Casey Parsons’ 100th game, and as two other big milestones were celebrated. C-grade players Cindy Falzon (300 games) and Emma O’Callaghan (200 games) were also saluted on the day.
• ‘Rovers retain cup’ - The Deni Rovers retained the coveted Warner Tasker Cup for the fourth consecutive year. The traditional rivalry match against Blighty was held at the Redeyes’ home ground in front of a large crowd.
