To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.
This so called group (the Volunteer Fire Fighters Association) is not affiliated with the Rural Fire Service.
All volunteers with the RFS donate their personal time to help the community.
Not everyone wants to attend house fires or vehicle accidents, but we appreciate every bit they do.
I/we appreciate all their hard work, as well as the staff in the office who support us with back up in whatever way we need on the ground.
They truly are a fantastic group to work with and be supported by. They have my full support.
The community can have the confidence that we are not on strike, nor will we.
I am concerned as to how this breakaway group (VFFA) can work alongside other emergency services or RFS brigades if they think there is a problem with senior management.
I have recently heard a podcast by Chris Smith with Helen Dalton which has upset me even more, about claims this other group have made which have misled several politicians.
After talking with Helen’s office the podcast has now been removed (from Helen’s Facebook page).
We are still learning the ACTIV communications system.
Not all members log on to the system. That does not mean they are not attending; they still do attend, they just did not log on.
The community can still be assured we will be there to help when needed.
Yours etc.
