It was a day of celebration and sad farewells when Blighty Public School helds in 2023 presentation day last month.

The special assembly highlighted the achievements of outstanding students, but was also the final school event for the graduating Year 6 students.

The school community also said goodbye to two members of staff.

Karen Conallin and Jenny Adamson have both left Blighty after dedicating 12 and two years, respectively, to the small school’s community.

The ceremony recognised the exceptional talent and hard work of the students by presenting several awards in various categories.

The award recipients were as follows. Surnames have not been provided for students, as per the school’s policy.

Achievment in Technology - Jaymie.

Junior Citizenship - Ava

Senior Citizenship - Rachel.

Junior Arts - Eloise.

Senior Arts - Jewel.

Cliff Young Sports Award - Ella.

Outstanding Effort and Achievement- Joiseh.

Principal’s Award for Academic Achievement - David.

Director of Educational Leadership Award - Gabrielle, for demonstrating a strong sense of self.
