The stop work meeting is expected to run from 8.30am to 10am.
Deniliquin High School has announced that no structured classes would be held during this time, and only minimal supervision will be provided for students who will be asked to assemble in the quadrangle.
Similar arrangements are expected to be out in place at other schools.
If you have not received notification from your child’s school, contact them directly for details.
HSC exams will not be impacted.
Deniliquin Teachers Association vice president and Deni High teacher Jess Burton said details of the offer are not yet known.
“We are hoping for the pay to at least keep up with inflation, but we’re also hoping for more release from teaching time,” she said.
“The stop work meeting will be taking place statewide, to allow us to look at the offer on the table.
“It will be presented to us on the day, after which we’ll be required to vote.
“Classes will continue as normal once the meeting is finished.”
The NSW Teachers Federation is hosting the stop work meetings, with schools participating by teleconference.
