Mr Tanner said both Ms Sheed and Dr Emonson would arrive to Moira Shire with a deep understanding of the needs of rural and regional Victorian communities.
“They (the fellow panellists) will help provide the shire with the confidence and trust people are seeking from the council,” Mr Tanner said.
“Their strategic insights will be of great importance to the work of the council and the community as a whole.”
Ms Sheed and Dr Emonson’s appointments will last until October 2028 when new council members are appointed.
Ms Sheed was an independent state member for Shepparton in Victorian Parliament from 2014 until 2022.
She has also held board positions with the RACV, Goulburn-Murray Water and the Law Institute of Victoria.
Dr Emonson was formerly deputy secretary, corporate services at Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in Victoria.
He has also held, among other positions, the position of chief executive at Knox City Council from 2002 to 2016 and was chief executive at the City of Wangaratta for five years before that.
Mr Tanner praised the Moira Shire community, saying he would continue to work hard to ensure the region continued to grow and move forward.
“The shire has so much potential for its residents and businesses. We must build on the opportunities we have in education, health, arts, tourism, sport, horticulture, business and community leadership to make everyone proud of being part of the municipality.”
