After two years, the Berrigan Show returned on Sunday with a relaxing day out for the family as its theme.

As the rain stopped and sun shone, the Berrigan Recreation Reserve was in perfect condition for show day.
All events were able to be held, with new exhibitors and competitors across all show sections.

The pavilion entries were on par with other shows and are predicted to increase in numbers as the past two years of cancellation fade.
A fantastic poultry show was held despite the Melbourne Show clashing with the Berrigan event.
Berrigan Show Committee secretary Lyndall Horne said it was a credit to Jude Lawrence and her team for a brilliant assortment of birds.
On arriving at the grounds, Mrs Horne said she had not seen so many horses in her 15-year involvement with in the show.
Horse section secretary Helen Pyle said entrants from South Australia, Victoria and southern New South Wales attended.

“First time competitors were very impressed with the Berrigan Show, from the facilities to the competition events held and said they would be back,” she said.
President Neville Dalgliesh summed up the event as “a brilliant day”.
“But, the day would not be a success without the tireless volunteers who make the Berrigan Show a great family day out,” Mr Dalgliesh said.
There was free entertainment aplenty, with local band 3 Under Par, Black Snake Productions, The Balancing Man, Dutch Thunder Wildlife Rescue, Cheeky Smiles Facepainting, Professor Wallace’s Puppets and Hay Ho Animal Nursery to entertain the large crowds throughout the day.

Mrs Horne said Ag Shows Australia National Rural Ambassador 2022 Dr Dione Howard opened the show.
“During the opening, Brooklynn Dowling from Savernake was announced the Berrigan Show 2022 Young Woman and interviewed by Wagga Wagga Show Young Woman Isabella Batcheldor,” she said.
Andrew Horne from the Royal Agricultural Society Young Group and Berrigan Show committee member presented Ray Eldridge with the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Agricultural Shows Award in recognition to his service to the show movement.

“Ray was Berrigan A & H Society President from 2001 to 2005, South Western Group of Show Association Group 9 President from 2007 to 2009 and South Western Group of Show Association Group 9 Delegate ASC from 2006 to 2014,” Mr Horne said.
“Ray is well known as our show day announcer and a hack and stock horse judge.”
The Showbag Factory owner Mal Patrick was awarded a certificate of appreciation from Berrigan Show Society for more than 50 years attendance at Berrigan Show, and many other shows throughout Victoria and Southern NSW.
The next event for Berrigan Show will be the ASC Dryland Wheat Crop Competition.
It will be judged at the end of October.
Planning is also already underway for the 123rd Show on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
