The river was expected to meet the minor level of 4.6m at some stage after publication deadline, with the NSW SES predicting the river could rise to 5m by Tuesday.
It is a revision of the 4.7m predicted late last week.
Based on the predictions, a ‘stay informed’ advice level warning remains in place for Deniliquin and Picnic Point.
The Edward River at downstream of Stevens Weir was at 5.34m yesterday and rising slowly, below the minor flood level.
It may reach 5.5m over the weekend, and 5.7m by Thursday with minor flooding.
Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the SES says the following areas may be impacted by dangerous floodwaters:
• Water in the forests
• Low lying roads and low-lying bridges
• Farming and rural areas
• Water may back up Aljoes Lane from both sides.
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Murray River downstream of Tocumwal to Barham.
The Murray River at Barham may reach about 5.9m over the weekend with moderate flooding.
The river level may reach 6m by next Friday, July 28 with moderate flooding.
Some local roads may be closed or underwater, and the SES warns people not to drive through floodwaters.
Edward River Council advises that boat ramps and beaches are affected in Deniliquin, and parts of the Beach to Beach Walk remain closed.
No roads are closed, but any impacts will be reported by LiveTraffic NSW at https://www.livetraffic.com.
