The initiative aims to support local communities in celebrating the festive season with a variety of events and activities that bring people together and spread holiday cheer.
The Festive Funding program offers financial support to community groups and organisations planning to host events or activities during the festive season.
Grants can be used for a range of purposes, including public decorations, entertainment, and other event-related expenses.
Moira Shire Council’s Chair Administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson PSM, emphasised the importance of community celebrations.
“The festive season is a special time for our community to come together and celebrate,” Dr Emonson said.
“Council’s Festive Funding program is designed to support our local community groups with events and initiatives that foster community spirit during this joyous time of year.”
Up to $1,000 will be available to community groups in small towns, and up to $2,000 for those in Yarrawonga, Cobram, Numurkah and Nathalia.
Grants of up to $1,000 will also be available for organisations to celebrate their culturally significant days.
There will be one successful application per town or per cultural group.
Eligible community groups are encouraged to submit applications that demonstrate a clear benefit to the local community and promote participation and enjoyment for all ages.
