Sienna has been training this year with the Bendigo La Trobe University talent program in preparation for the competition, where she hopes to demonstrate and apply the skills she has learned.
Sienna found a pathway to the program through her involvement with the Deniliquin Netball Association, playing in the local competition as in its representative team.
Sienna is also a member of the Deniliquin Rovers Football & Netball Club.
We’ll bring you more about Sienna’s experience after the tournament.
Slithering surprise
A snake was spotted slithering through the CBD on Wednesday afternoon, which may have caught many passers by off guard.
These scaled creatures are becoming more common as the temperatures rise, and this sighting serves as a reminder to remain vigilant when outdoors.
It’s essential to keep a safe distance and avoid interacting with them.
With summer quickly approaching, taking precautions to prevent a potential encounter with snakes is necessary.
Wearing protective clothing, keeping a lookout for any signs of snakes, and staying on designated paths or trails can help minimize the risk of encountering snakes.
Clear or collect
There’s only one week left to donate your frocks to Kate Sparks’ Frocktober fundraiser.
Locals are being asked to donate dresses to the cause, and Kate said local businesses are already coming on board to donate items for the auction.
Kate’s fundraiser will give all of you ladies a chance to clear out those dresses you never wear and maybe collect some new additions to the wardrobe rack.
It is a fundraiser for ovarian cancer, with another big aim of the evening to start conversations that could save your life.
The event will be hosted at Kate and her husband Fionn Lindsay-Field’s Deniliquin home - ‘Bowman House’, at 368 Henry St.
Tickets to the event are $30 per person, with all proceeds donated to Frocktober.
To book your ticket, or if you wish to donate frocks or auction items, please contact Kate on 0408 551 415.
