The body of a man was located in the water about 11.45am on Saturday, January 25.
It is the conclusion of a search that started at about 12.30pm on Friday, January 24, when a swimmer was reported to have gotten into difficulty.
While it is yet to be formally identified, the body is believed to be that of the missing 23-year-old man.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Friday, January 24: Emergency services are searching the Murray River at Barooga for a missing swimmer on Friday, January 24.
Emergency services were called to the Murray River at the end of Micks Beach Rd, Barooga, following reports of a man having difficulty in the water about 12.30pm.
A short time later, NSW police officers attached to Murray River Police District responded, with assistance from Victoria Police, Marine Area Command, Marine Rescue NSW and the SES.
A search has been launched for the missing 23-year-old man, who is believed to be wearing red board shorts.
