But what are they doing to keep themselves entertained?
One space that has been utilised extensively by young people had been the skate park.
Adults, teens and youngsters alike can spend many hours at the facility, which has a complete overhaul in 2024.
Since its renovation, the local skate park has seen hundreds of kids using and enjoying the space.
So much so, that even a bit of water from the sprinklers couldn’t put them off.
Users were yesterday caught a little unware when the inground sprinklers popped up about lunchtime.
But it did not deter them one bit.
In fact, it probably helped them enjoy the park a little longer as the sun started to bear down.
They continued their skating and scooting, enjoying their holidays to the utmost.
Threads exhibit a summer hit
An intriguing exhibition continues right here in Deniliquin.
An exhibition showcasing embroidery works has been open at the Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery.
The exhibition titled ‘Beyond Threads: Left Handed Embroidery’ has been running since December 17.
Locally based artisan, Linda Maher, has been crafting since the late 1970s and the exhibition is a selection of some of her favourite works from throughout the years.
Linda has won numerous awards for her embroidery, including Best In Show - Crafting at the 2023 Melbourne Royal Show.
Linda's left-hand focus on her works gives the exhibition an intriguing twist.
Holiday bin collection
Edward River Council has confirmed there will be no change to the bin collection system again this week, regardless of New Year’s.
“Garbage collection will continue as usual, including on public holidays.
“Please place your bins out the night prior to collection, as the pickup service will run earlier than usual over the New Year period,” council advised.
Deni muso night
Deniliquin’s muso night will return next month with a bang, having now run for 27 years.
The first muso night will take place on Friday, January 3, kicking off at 7pm and wrapping up at 10pm, at the Globe Hotel.
Admittance to the event will be a gold coin donation.
“Musicians, bring your instruments, house PA and microphones are set up and ready to go,” organisers wrote.
“The Muso Night format is laid back and casual. Performers of all standards are welcome and encouraged to have a go.”
