All the committee’s planned activities will be packed into Saturday, March 1, with horse events continuing at Memorial Park on the Sunday.
Deniliquin Show Society president Trudy Fanning said while they only have one day instead of two, no attractions would be lost from the event.
“The week leading up to the show is when we do the pavilion judging.”
“The show will be open to the public on Saturday, and the horse events carry on to Sunday.
“Saturday will have the carnival rides, poultry, shearing, large animals, sheep and cattle, the pavilion will be open to people, horse events on show, the Demolition Derby and fireworks.
“We try to offer as much free child’s entertainment as we can for the children, including free camel rides and this year a disco with a DJ for the littlies.
“We are focused on providing a fun family environment and a good time out for everyone involved.”
Entries for all Deni Show events are open now, with the show schedule available online at: deniliquinshow.com.au/schedule/.
This includes the popular shearing and demolition derby events.
Anyone who would like to enter or sponsor the derby is invited to contact stewards Brad on 0458 024 633 or Paul on 0488 950 450 for more information on rules and regulations.
Online entries for the 2025 pavilion sections close February 26.
Mrs Fanning said the other significant change for the Deni Show this year is that it will being doing more to support local charities.
She said a portion of ticket sales and sales from the P&A Society canteen and bar would be donated to Deniliquin Can Assist.
“We’re pledging a dollar from every adult ticket to Can Assist,” she said.
“We’ll also donate 50 cents from every works burger and 50 cents from each beer we sell.
“Even though the show society is a not-for-profit itself, we want to make sure we give back to the local community.
“We also want to inform people about Can Assist - a cancer assistance charity which supports people in its own community - as some of our committee members didn’t even realise all the money gets used locally.”
Tickets for the show will be available from February.
Adult tickets are $20, children 5-18 years are $5, family packages are $40 (e.g. two adults and three children), concession tickets are $15 and under five years are free.
Tickets will be available from My Shop and Deniliquin Jewellers, or at the gate during the show.
