From its recent round of ClubGRANTS, the Deni RSL will donate $179,150 in cash grants to be split among 28 different organisations and projects.
Another $168,500 in in-kind support will be used to support 54 applicants.
Club CEO Mel Clarke said while some grant applicants did miss out on funding this round, the club was pleased to be providing assistance to so many varied groups.
“We tried to give something to everyone who applied, but unfortunately we could not fulfil all requests,” Mrs Clarke said.
“We did however far exceed the compulsory minimum amount of funding we are required to give out, which is about $100,000.
“Our largest cash donations are $7500, with three applicants receiving that amount.
“We also have one receiving $6000 and quite a number receiving $5000.
“Some of our applicants asked for amounts less that $1000, with one only asking for and receiving $750.”
Mrs Clarke said the in-kind donations largely cover equipment and room hire fees, but also includes some printing costs and complimentary tea and coffee stations.
All applicants have been invited to a presentation ceremony to be hosted at the Deniliquin RSL Club from 6pm on July 16.
Mrs Clarke is it would be the first presentation ceremony held in more than six years, and a great opportunity to celebrate as a community.
