Katunga tried hard too seek revenge for the 2018 Grand Final loss but it was the Deni Rovers fourths who held strong getting away by six points at home on Saturday.The Swans kicked four straight in the first quarter and threatened to blow the game apart but the younger and smaller Roos side never gave up.Deni kicked the last three goals of the game to claim victory in a hard fought contest.Final score, Deni 7.4 (46) to Katunga 6.4 (40)Dom Rodgers was the only player to kick two goals for the Rovers, while Alvin Cooper, Jackson Muldoon Leetham, Jerrah Caruso and Liam East all recorded singles.Alvin Cooper, Conner Didcock, Liam East, Deagan Purcell, Austin Armytage, Nick Stubbings, Rylan Wade and Jemika Cooper were all named among the best players.It was a different story in the later thirds match, with the Roos going down by seven goals.Deni challenged Katunga early only trailing by 13 points at quarter time but that was as close as they would come.The Swans piled on 11 goals to six after quarter time.Final score, Katunga 15.7 (97) to 8.7 (55).Tim McDonnell scored two majors for the home side, Raymond Murphy, Jack Woodcock, Ben East, Tom Banks, Hayden Gardiner and Dom Reid all kicking a goal each.The best players for the Roos were Braith Wade, Jay McCully, Tom Chandler, Brandon Armstrong, Anthony Zielke and Haydn Mowat.Â
